City View Venues is located in the Bank of the James, at 828 Main Street Lynchburg, VA 24504. Events can be hosted on either the 8th floor or the 20th floor.

Yes, visits are by appointment only. Please contact us to schedule a viewing.

Booking & Payments

How do I book an event at City View Venues?

How do I book an event at City View Venues?

To reserve your event date, you need to pay at least 50% of the Venue Rental Fee upfront. The remaining balance is due two weeks prior to your event.

What forms of payment are accepted?

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept checks, money orders, and credit cards. Note that credit card payments incur a 3.5% processing fee.


What is the cancellation policy?

What is the cancellation policy?

If you cancel your booking for any reason, City View Venues retains the entire Venue Rental Fee. There are no refunds or date changes allowed.

What time can I access the venue on the day of the event?

Access times will be specified in your contract. It's important not to enter the venue before your allotted time or remain beyond it, as additional fees apply.


Am I responsible for setting up and decorating the venue?

Am I responsible for setting up and decorating the venue?

Yes, all setup and decorating (excluding table settings) are the responsibility of the Lessee. Setup and teardown must occur within the rented timeframe.


Can I choose my own vendors?

Can I choose my own vendors?

For weddings, a wedding planner from our preferred vendor list must be used. Other vendors (caterers, photographers, etc.) must carry adequate liability insurance. If you choose not to use our on-site caterer, a fee will apply to use the kitchen and facilities.



Is alcohol allowed at the venue?

Yes, but you must obtain an A.B.C. banquet license. City View Venues does not provide alcohol.


SECURITY & INSURANCE

Do I need to have event insurance?

Yes, we require special event insurance with a minimum coverage of one million dollars, listing City View Venues as an additional insured.


What security measures are in place at the venue?

What security measures are in place at the venue?

Security cameras are installed in every room except the bathrooms. It's important to communicate this to all attendees.

What are the parking options?

What are the parking options?

Parking is available in our garage after 5pm on weekdays and all day on weekends. There is also street and public parking nearby.


What is the maximum capacity of each floor?

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM CAPACITY OF EACH FLOOR?

The maximum number of people, including vendors, is 150 per floor.

What is the policy on smoking and decorations?

What is the policy on smoking and decorations?

Smoking is strictly prohibited except in designated areas. All decorations must be removed within 24 hours after the event, or City View Venues will remove them at your expense.


How do I handle emergencies during an event?

Use stairwells only in emergencies. For all other concerns, City View Venues staff will be available to assist.
